In spite of the fact that Mazda is calling the 2011 model the “third generation” of the 2, its more or less a refresh of the second gen auto sold around the globe by reason of 2008. Aside from redesigned front and rear belts and sundry newfangled interior bits, its basically the same auto as ever, one that divisions its structural engineering with Portage's slick brand new Holiday which, incidentally, likewise reaches stateside for 2011.
