Just a few Chicago minutes ago, Toyota rolled out its entirely redesigned Toyota Highlander for 2008, along with its hybridized sibling. The new design, which the company says makes way for a roomier interior, is more of an art piece than the unconscionably bland model it replaces. Character lines abound, as do sculpting around the wheel wells

giving it a family resemblance with the smaller RAV4. The hybrid model's Hybrid Synergy Drive system gets an upgrade to 270 hp (net), while the base 3.5-liter V6 gets a 55-hp bump to 270 hp over the previous model's 3.3-liter jobbie. Press release ahead
